1. Purpose of the service
The Relicodes service links a stainless-steel plate with a QR code placed at a memorial site to a digital memorial profile. The purpose of the service is to enable families to preserve photographs, videos and written memories of loved ones in a dignified and long-term accessible way.
These service terms govern the use of the Relicodes application, digital profiles, QR codes, uploading of content, profile management, service availability, data capacity, and future hosting.
2. Profile activation
The digital profile can be activated according to the procedure described in the instructions or in the Relicodes application. The profile administrator (the Buyer) is obliged to provide truthful information and ensure they are authorised to create and manage the profile and to link it to a specific memorial site or memory of a specific person.
The Seller reserves the right to refuse or suspend the activation of a profile if there is reasonable suspicion of misuse of the service, unauthorised use of the QR code, infringement of third-party rights, or a conflict with the purpose of the service.
3. Managing and editing the profile
The Buyer is the primary profile administrator. The profile administrator (the Buyer) can upload photographs, videos and texts, edit the information in the profile, and manage its content through the Relicodes application. Changes made in the application may appear on the public profile immediately or after technical processing.
The Seller is not liable for the accuracy, completeness or truthfulness of the content uploaded to the profile by the profile administrator. The profile administrator is responsible for ensuring that the uploaded content does not infringe legal regulations, copyright, personality rights, the right to privacy, or the rights of third parties.
4. Profile capacity
Each digital profile has a basic data capacity of 500 MB. This capacity includes, in particular, photographs, videos and other files uploaded to the specific profile.
If a profile reaches its capacity limit, it may not be possible to upload additional files until the profile administrator deletes some content or an option to increase capacity becomes available. The Seller may, in the future, offer a capacity increase as a separate paid service.
5. Prohibited content
It is prohibited to upload content to a digital profile that is unlawful, hateful, offensive, discriminatory, pornographic, violent, misleading, harassing, infringes the rights of third parties, or disrupts the dignity of the deceased.
The Seller is entitled to hide, remove, or restrict access to such content. In serious cases, the Seller may temporarily suspend or cancel the profile, in particular if continuation of the service could lead to legal liability or infringement of the rights of third parties.
6. Displaying the profile to visitors
Visitors can view the digital profile after scanning the QR code with a standard smartphone. Downloading the Relicodes application is generally not required to view the profile; the profile opens in a web browser.
The availability of the profile may depend on the visitor's internet connection, the functionality of their device, camera quality, the condition of the QR code, lighting conditions, and the availability of technical infrastructure.
7. Hosting, maintenance and annual fee
The Relicodes service includes the technical operation of the digital profile, storage of content, security, updates, and access to the profile via the QR code. Because the long-term operation of digital profiles requires ongoing costs, the Seller is entitled to introduce an annual hosting fee in the future.
The annual hosting fee may serve, in particular, to cover the costs of servers, data storage, security, technical maintenance, application updates, customer support, and long-term accessibility of the profile. The amount of the fee, its due date, and payment terms will be stated on the e-shop, in the application, or in e-mail communication before the fee is charged.
If the profile administrator does not pay the hosting fee, some functions may be restricted, the profile may be archived, public display may be restricted, or the service may be suspended. The profile administrator will be given reasonable notice before any such restriction, where technically and contactually possible.
8. Availability and changes to the service
The Seller strives to ensure that the service is available and functional. However, availability cannot be guaranteed on an uninterrupted basis. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical outages, security measures, force majeure, or outages on the part of external providers.
The Seller may continuously change, develop, update or modify the service. Such changes must not, without reasonable cause, prevent the main purpose of the service, which is the preservation and display of the memorial profile via the QR code.
9. Cancellation or deletion of a profile
The profile administrator may request the deletion of a digital profile via e-mail at info@relicodes.cz or by another method that will be available in the application. Before deleting a profile, the administrator may be asked to verify their authorisation to prevent unauthorised removal of content.
Once a profile is deleted, its content may be removed from the active service. Some data may be retained for a limited period in backups, technical logs, or legal records, where necessary for security, compliance with legal obligations, or the protection of legal claims.
10. Liability and limitations of the service
The Relicodes service is intended for the preservation and provision of access to memorial content. The Seller is not liable for emotional, family or personal harm arising from content uploaded by the profile administrator, for disputes between family members, for the unauthorised placement of the plate at a memorial site, or for content to which the profile administrator did not have the necessary rights.
The Seller is not liable for malfunctions caused by incorrect installation of the plate, mechanical damage to the QR code, vandalism, an unsuitable surface, illegibility caused by dirt, lack of internet access on the part of the visitor, or the use of a device that is unable to correctly read the QR code.
